Ricardo Montalban Fantasy Island Actor Dead - Ricardo Montalban who played in Fantasy Island and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan has died in his home in Beverly Hills today.According to People,his son-in-law Gilbert Smith said:

Montalban had been in declining health for months and died from “complications of advancing age.”
“He was in peace,” said Smith, who said that the actor was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. “He will be missed.” Montalban was proceeded in death by one year by his wife of 63 years, Gorgiana Young, the younger sister of his frequent co-star Loretta Young.
“[She is] the only love of my life,” the actor said in 2004.

On the public’s misinterpretation of his and Angie’s “affair”:

“What people don’t understand is that we filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen [Aniston] and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. On Aniston’s recent comment that it was “uncool” for Angie to openly state that she and Brad fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith:

“Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.”

On his current relationship with Jennifer Aniston:

“We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”

On photographing Angie for W magazine’s November 2008 photo spread:

“We have fun working together; these things bring you closer. And let me tell you, it’s really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further [than the cover shot of Jolie breast-feeding]. I didn’t show those.”

On what motivated his request for photographer Chuck Close, who uses a technique called Daguerrotype that captures every fine line and flaw:

“[to not have to be] the guy coming out of the ocean water with his T-shirt wet, even though I’ve done that, too, but have always walked away feeling a little crap about it.”

On how family life has changed him:

“I quit smoking. That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done.”

On gay marriage rights:

“People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying. What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

New Year Week In Photos

Instead of rocking out in Times Square on New Year's Eve, Miley Cyrus performed at Arnold O'Beckman High School in Irvine, CA. The private concert rewarded senior Alison Kaprielian for raising breast cancer awareness.

Paris Hilton started off 2009 with a good deed. The heiress visited sick children at the Gold Coast Hospital in Queensland, Australia. Earlier in the week, Paris and her sister Nicky attended numerous New Year's events in Sydney.

St. Barts was the destination of choice for the jet set. Beyonce and Jay-Z spent the week frolicking on the Caribbean island.

Daniel Craig also enjoyed the warm waters of St. Barts. Looks like the James Bond star prefers wearing square-cut swimsuits off-screen as well!

Mariah Carey quickly dispelled pregnancy rumors after she was spotted drinking wine and eating shellfish while vacationing with husband Nick Cannon in St. Barts.

Some news outlets speculated that Jennifer Garner would deliver on New Year's Day, but their hopes were dashed. The actress' due date is later this month.

Meanwhile, it was back to business for David Beckham. The soccer star joined his AC Milan teammates for training in Dubai on Thursday.

Balthazar Getty (seen here arriving for a vacation in Mexico) may find himself out of a full-time gig in 2009. According to Entertainment Weekly, the producers of "Brothers & Sisters" told Getty that he would not be coming back as a regular next season. Getty's publicist denies the actor is leaving the ensemble drama.

Brody Jenner should consider guest starring in other reality shows after the premiere of his new (and second unsuccessful) reality show "Bromance" tanked. Ratings for Whitney Port's "Hills" spin-off "The City" were also poor.

DJ AM and Travis Barker hit the stage on New Year's Eve -- their first performance together since the near fatal plane crash last September. AM, aka Adam Goldstein, took to his blog last week to clarify the terms of his negligence lawsuit. Goldstein blogged, "this suit is against the insurance companies that insured the pilots. I'm not after [the pilots'] personal estates nor their property." However, his suit does state, "The pilots were either poorly trained and/or failed to follow their training."

Matt Dillon was taken to a police station in Newbury, Vermont, after being stopped at 106mph on Interstate 91, more than 40mph over the speed limit. If convicted next month, the actor could get three months in jail.
